    Himass & TanVuu permanently banned at PUBG Asia Stars 2026

    KRAFTON found two Vietnamese pros used out-of-game information and opponents’ streams during a showmatch, then banned their accounts and competitive eligibility permanently. The debate centres on the rules, proportionality and consistency.

    Riot bans nearly 300,000 "rent-a-rank" accounts

    On 17 September 2026 Riot Games announced it had penalised 296,416 League of Legends and VALORANT accounts for rank manipulation such as boosting, smurfing and hitchhiking. The wave also hit well-known streamers such as Trainwreckstv and Trick2g, who argue the automated system got their cases wrong.

    Eddie, Gumayusi and one mistranslated answer

    On 20 September 2026 Vietnam's League of Legends team beat Korea in a game for the first time, during a friendly series before the 2026 Asian Games. Afterwards, marksman Eddie's comment about Gumayusi and Keria was mistranslated as criticism, drawing fire from some Korean fans — at the height of Vietnam–Korea tension over the PUBG Asia Stars case. Gumayusi defended Eddie that night and the translators apologised.

    Naiyou (Top Esports) banned for life for match-fixing

    In March 2026 the LPL banned Top Esports (TES) jungler Yang "Naiyou" Zi-Jian for life after an investigation triggered by TES itself. Per several esports outlets, Naiyou admitted deliberately losing every game TES lost in the playoffs. TES terminated his contract and withheld all unpaid salary and bonuses.

    The Arena of Valor cheating case at SEA Games 33

    During Thailand's women's Arena of Valor match against Vietnam on 15 December 2025, player Naphat "Tokyogurl" Warasin was found to have let another person log into her competition account and play for her. She was expelled, Thailand's women's team withdrew, Garena banned her, and on 17 March 2026 a Thai court sentenced both her and the stand-in player.
